According to the dictionary meaning, a virgin is a person who has never had sexual intercourse. The term virgin is mostly used to qualify women, although society does not ascribe this term to men, men too can be regarded as virgins.

People define or see sex in different ways, so virginity can be seen and mean different things, too.

Countless people think that having penis-in-vagina sex for the first time is how you lose your virginity. Should this be so, it leaves many people and other types of sex out of the picture.

In truth, some people haven’t had penis-in-vagina sex, but they’ve had other kinds of sex (like oral sex, fingering or anal sex) — and they may or may not see themselves as virgins.

This is the 21st century with so many definitions about sex and different types of sexual intercourse have recently been acknowledged, but in this context, the sexual intercourse I will be referring to throughout is the penis-in-vagina sex.

I was not shocked to learn from a medical friend and colleague that inexperience and ignorance also plays a moderately high percentage in the reason for delayed conception in couples – especially virgin couples.

In other words, some reasons why virgin couples don’t conceive early is because they are not having sexual intercourse the right way. However negligible and controversial this is, we shall try to explore.

Why was I not so shocked? Well, because I had my fair share of experience…ROFL. As funny as this sounds, it is real, if the medics say it is probable, it is. Many virgins do not know “where to put it” or “where it should be put”.

Bear in mind that virgin couples referred to in this piece are couples that married as virgin.

Since sex drive is innate, it is expected that you are to discover how to have sex yourself (except in some few cultures where you are practically taught).

Most people acquire their knowledge of sex instinctively or passively – through previous conversations, imaginations etc. No one is born a pro at this thing, everyone’s got a first time, and a first time is always different.

The wedding night as fabulously described don’t always go as planned, especially for virgin couples.

During courtship, the man might have bragged to his partner how he would make her scream, make the bed rock, do it 5 times before day break and so on.

But in actuality, the night ends up with little conversation some couples may even go speechless, not because the man has erectile problems or the woman is frigid, it is simply because they don’t know how to do it!

Many virgins do not know where to insert the penis into the vagina. They can’t locate the vagina opening. Some partners (mostly men) may be in denial and do not want to appear as a novice (even though they are virgins), claim they know where to put it.

So, they keep poking everywhere around the groin, doing trial & error until every part of the pubic region of their partner goes sore.
